** Missouri EMT in training shot while eating at St. John restaurant

** A Missouri medic  student from St. John remains in hospital in stable condition after being shot Monday at a local restaurant following an EMT class. That is the word from KMOX Radio (Eric Sykes/June 23) which said Arlydia Bufford, 20, was fired on at an Applebees while eating with other first responders. According to the news site, the shooter opened up on two separate restaurant booths. One female died at the scene, while another was injured. Bufford, meanwhile, who is also a firefighter, is breathing on her own. Police say a suspect has been arrested, but the motive for the shooting remains unknown. St. Ann resident Courtney Demond Washington, 28, has been charged with first degree murder, assault x 2, and armed criminal action x 3.
