** Florida emergency workers getting thumbs up from voters

** A new poll is Florida shows residents overwhelmingly support first responders, nurses, and doctors. Florida Politics (Drew Wilson/May 19) said the St. Pete Polls survey found nine in ten of state voters held very positive views of paramedics, police, and firefighters. When broken down by party affiliation, 92 % of both Republicans and Democrats approved of the job emergency workers were doing. The stat among independent voters was 93 %. Some 6 % said they held neither a positive nor negative view, while 2 % said they disapproved. Doctors and nurses were also viewed favourably by 88 per cent of respondents. The poll was conducted on May 12-13th and surveyed 3,146 registered voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 1.7%.
