** Singapore paramedics now responding to all emergency calls wearing full protective gear due to coronavirus

SINGAPORE NEWS

** With the ongoing threat posed by coronavirus, paramedics across the country are donning full protective gear when responding to all emergency calls. That is the word from The Straits Times (Cara Wong/February 12) which said Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) providers were given the order by government officials on February 7th after the disease outbreak response level was raised to orange. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Home Affairs Amrin Amin said the move has caused some EMS providers to be discriminated against by the public. In one instance, several paramedics were shooed away from food purchases due to fears they may contaminate others. By Wednesday, SCDF medics have attended on 219 suspected coronavirus cases.
