** Nova Scotia Workers’ Compensation Board starting PTSD website for first responders

CANADA NEWS

** Nova Scotia is apparently working with first responders to provide them with better tools and resources when dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). That is the word from The Signal (Nick Cantar/January 20) which said the Workers’ Compensation Board is planning a website to help medics and other emergency responders find pertinent information. Since a change in legislation in 2018, practitioners reporting PTSD to WCB Nova Scotia have spiked. Reported cases between October 2017 and September 2018 were 54. The number for the period of October 2018 to September 2019 is 141. The model for the new website is one from BC. There is no word on when the Nova Scotia site will be up and running.
