** Former Tennessee paramedic facing trial next month in driving death

UNITED STATES NEWS

** A former Tennessee paramedic from Chattanooga will face trial on January 21st in relation to the 2018 wrong way driving death of James Brumlow. That is the word from WRCB TV (December 16) which said Justin Whaley, who was also a Reserve Deputy, stands accused of being intoxicated when he hit and killed Brumlow. According to the news site, delays in the case has been rife. Lawyers for Whaley have been trying to bring in a jury from another county to participate in the case (WRCB/August 19). They say media hype means impartiality is impossible for locals. In addition, Whaley’s counsel has disputed his blood alcohol test which they say was taken four hours after the accident. Brumlow’s family, meanwhile, says the delays are torture and want the case to proceed as soon as possible.
