SOUTH KOREA NEWS

** Search and rescue teams working the East Sea near Dodko have now recovered 3 bodies from the Thursday crash of an air ambulance. That is the word from the Korea Times (Kim Jae-heun/November 5) which said the latest body was found around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday by an ROV scanning the chopper’s fuselage. Two other bodies were recovered Saturday. Authorities identified the remains as those of the aircraft’s co-pilot and the chief mechanic. So far, 100 divers have been working with 20 naval ships to attempt to retrieve the lost crew. Initial investigation indicates the chopper is about 72 metres beneath the service in two pieces, with the helicopter’s tail located about 114 metres away from the main wreckage. The National 119 Rescue Headquarters air ambulance went down after attempting to transport a fisherman who had severed his thumb. Seven  people were onboard the aircraft when it went down about three minutes after take-off. Along with the patient, there were 5 crew members and the patient’s friend. Investigators have yet to retrieve the black box and flight voice recorder. The cause of the crash is unknown.
