** North Carolina paramedic/firefighter charged with kidnapping

UNITED STATES NEWS

** A North Carolina paramedic/firefighter  from Erwin  has resigned from his job after police charged him with second degree kidnapping. That is the word from The Daily Record (Eliot Duke/September 9) which said Lewis Crawford, 35, tendered his resignation last week. According to the newspaper, Crawford allegedly kidnapped a Johnston Community College Fire Academy student at gunpoint on August 28th. He apparently believed the 19-year-old had explicit pictures of his daughter. The two then drove to the local police department. Crawford turned himself in on September 3rd after a warrant was served for his arrest. At the time of the incident, both men worked for Dunn Emergency Services. Police continue to investigate the 19-year-old over the indecent photographs. Friends of Crawford, meanwhile, have established a GoFundMe page to assist in covering legal costs.
