** California EMT likely headed for decade behind bars after conviction on sex offences

** A California EMT from Vista will likely be sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting three females. That is the word from The Patch (California News Wire Services/August 14) which said David Carpio, 34, who worked for Balboa Ambulance Services, appeared in court Tuesday and will be sentenced November 4th. According to the news service, Carpio copped to forcible penetration and sexual battery in relation to the incidents which spanned 2014, 2015, and 2017. One of the individuals assaulted was a teenage female patient he was transporting. Along with the jail time, Carpio is also facing a civil suit from the family of one of his victims. The case goes to trial in early 2020.
