** Georgia police officer, accused of murdering EMT girlfriend, released form hospital; now in police custody

** A Columbus, Georgia police sergeant, accused of murdering his girlfriend EMT last Saturday evening, has finally been released from hospital and is now in jail. That is the word from the Ledger-Enquirer (Allie Dean/May 16) which said Sgt. William Leonard Talley, 51, who has worked policing for the past 17 years, will now go before a judge for the first time on May 22nd. Talley has been charged with shooting to death Kelly Levinsohn, 44, during a domestic dispute. He also allegedly stole and crashed her truck, resulting in his admission to hospital in critical condition. Along with murder, Talley has also been charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and violation of oath.
