** Nevada paramedic turned Reno assemblyman resigns from office after sexual harassment accusation

UNITED STATES NEWS

** A Nevada paramedic from Reno, who is also a city assemblyman, has resigned from his political position after being accused of sexual harassment. The Nevada Current (Michael Lyle/March 14) said Mike Sprinkle (D), who represents Washoe, took leave of his post with regret, but did not directly acknowledge any wrongdoing. According to the newspaper, Sprinkle was the Assembly Majority Whip and chaired the Health and Human Services Committee. He was also a vocal Democrat who supported the No Means No, Ruben campaign aimed at the conduct of former Congressman Ruben Kihuen. Kihuen was also accused of sexual harassment and was sanctioned by the US House of Representatives. He was seeking a city council seat at the time. Gov. Steve Sisolak, meanwhile, said Sprinkle’s alleged misconduct was disgusting and should never be tolerated.
