** California EMS chief from Contra Costa arrested on drug charges


** A California EMS chief from Contra Costa has been arrested for suspicion of illegal possession of controlled substances. That is the word from CBS SF (January 9) which said Richard Stephenson was taken into custody Sunday morning. According to the news service, Stephenson has now been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case. At the time of his arrest, he had been employed by the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District for 19 years. There is no word on his first court date or intended plea.
