** Former FDNY EMT suing doctor for wrongly accusing her of disability fraud

** A Fire Department of New York (FDNY) EMT is suing a doctor after he wrongly accused her of forging his signature on a disability insurance claim. That is the word from The New York Daily Post (Priscilla DeGregory/July 9) which said Susan James, 60, took the action after she was fired. According to the newspaper, Dr. Ajendra Sohal accused James of the crime during a 2016 investigation into widespread EMS disability insurance fraud. Charges against James, who was treated by Sohal for a knee problem from 2010 to 2012, were dropped in 2017. Sohal also recanted. Along with Sohal, James’ suit also names Sohal’s then employer, Parkway Medical and Rehabilitation in Rego Park, in the action.
