** UK medic struck off after falsely claiming overtime, working for another company while on sick time

UNITED KINGDOM NEWS

** A Yorkshire paramedic has been struck off from practicing for five years after he was found guilty of falsely claiming overtime and working for another company while off sick. That is the word from The Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Nick Lavigueur/June 8) which said the jig was up for Amjid Mahmood after a concerned citizen sent an anonymous email on his activities to his service. According to the newspaper, Mahmood claimed up to 40 minutes overtime when it was clear he had already gone home for the day. He did this 35 times between December 2015 and April 2016. Mahmood resigned in September 2016. The Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service found him guilty of misconduct and dishonesty. Mahmood did not appear at the hearing.
