** Florida extends workers’ compensation coverage to include first responder PTSD

UNITED STATES NEWS

** Florida medics will soon see workers’ compensation coverage extend to include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). That is the word from WLRN (February 6) which said both the House and the Senate have given the nod to SB 376. It will now head to the desk of Governor Rick Scott to be signed into law.  According to the news site, current coverage options only deal with physical injuries. The sponsor of the bill was Democratic Rep. Matt Willhite. Willhite works full time as a captain at Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. He has toiled in EMS/fire for 23 years.
