UNITED KINGDOM NEWS

** A Falmouth based paramedic has been struck off from practicing after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with 2 patients. That is the word from Cornwall Live (Ginette Davies/March 13) which said the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) deemed Alan Mitchell’s conduct an abuse of the trust relationship with the women. According to the newspaper, Mitchell had exchanged over 300 text messages with one of the females. He also failed to call for help when she said she was suicidal. With the second patient, who was a domestic violence victim, Mitchell apparently tried to convince her to leave her husband. Allegations of misconduct against Mitchell reach back to 2009 when he was also accused of inappropriate behaviour towards a vulnerable patient. He was fired from his job with South Western Ambulance Service in May of 2016. The following month he lost an appeal to be reinstated.
