** Florida selfie taking paramedic jailed for six months

UNITED STATES NEWS

** An Okaloosa, Florida paramedic, who took selfies with unconscious patients, has been sentenced to six months in jail. That is the word from The Northwest Florida Daily News (Annie Blanks/September 20) which said Christopher Wimmer, 35, will also serve three years probation and do 100 hours community service. According to the newspaper, Wimmer entered a plea of no contest to seven different felony tags, including interception and disclosure of oral communications and misdemeanor battery x 1. The latter charge relates to an incident in which he held an unconscious woman’s eyelids open to take a photograph. Wimmer undertook the so-called selfie war alongside fellow medic Kayla Dubois. Dubois was given probation under a plea deal that included testifying in Wimmer’s trial. Investigators said 41 different patients were victimized by the pair. Wimmer expressed remorse for his actions and asked for no jail time. However, the judge ordered him to report for detention on Friday.
