** Mississippi medic run over by his own ambulance; airlifted to hospital

** A Mississippi paramedic was transported to hospital Sunday night after an incident that saw his own ambulance run over him. The Neshoba Democrat (Debbie Burt Myers/September 20) said the 8 p.m. mishap in Jackson apparently occurred because another medic failed to properly put the EMS vehicle in park. The rig then hit two people and a house. The paramedic who was struck was later airlifted to hospital. Officials declined to release specifics on the EMS practitioner’s injuries. The matter is now under investigation.
