** Arkansas EMS patient dies after jumping from ambulance

** Tennessee EMT arrested in human trafficking sting operation

** A Searcy, Arkansas woman is dead after jumping from a moving ambulance Monday. That is the word from The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (August 15) which said the 12:13 p.m. incident played out as the unidentified female was being transported to a mental health facility between Paragould and Little Rock. Police have not released any further details. The woman’s identity is not being released until her next of kin have been notified.

** Tennessee police in Kingsport have apparently arrested an area EMT for human trafficking. WJHL (August 15) said Washington County – Johnson City EMS EMT Samuel McMurry was taken into custody alongside ten other men and one woman. McMurry has now been charged with the Class A felony of trafficking a person for commercial sex act and the Class B felony of trafficking a person for commercial sex act. McMurry’s bail has been set at $100,000. Since the news of his arrest broke, he has been on leave without pay. Others arrested in the sweep included a youth leader, Uber driver, and an athletics coach. The sting operation lasted from July 31st to August 3rd and saw undercover agents pose as young girls on a web site. All the suspects responded to the web site for the purpose of engaging in sex with the underage girls.
