** Selfie War paramedics in Florida facing jail as sentencing approaches

UNITED STATES NEWS

** Sentencing has been set for next week for an Okaloosa, Florida paramedic who took several selfies with unconscious and incapacitated patients. The North West Florida Daily News (Tony Judnich/August 5) said Navarre resident Kayla Renee Dubois, 25, will face the court August 14th in relation to the felony tags of interception and disclosure of oral communications x 2. According to the newspaper, Dubois has pleaded no contest to the charges which reach back to September 2015 and into the spring of 2016. Dubois was apparently engaged in a so-called selfie war with fellow medic and Crestview resident Christopher Robert Wimmer, 34. Wimmer has been tagged with interception and disclosure of oral communications x 7, as well as one misdemeanor count of battery. The latter relates to a February 22, 2016 incident in which he held a patient’s eyelids open to take a picture. Sentencing for Wimmer, who also pleaded no contest, will be September 19th. Both medics no longer work in EMS.
