** Funeral services were held Friday in Maine for a Sebago paramedic who died last week in a target shooting accident. WMTV (David Charns/August 3) said the commemoration for Chance Gallant, 20, was held at the city’s town hall at 1 p.m. According to the newspaper, Gallant died from a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. He and his friends were examining a jammed rifle when the weapon apparently discharged. Police say the incident appears to be an accident, but the Cumberland County District Attorney’s office said charges could still be pending. The Maine State Police are in charge of the investigation.
** A former Norfolk County, Ontario paramedic will spend only fourteen more days in jail after being credited with time served on sex charges. That is the word from The Brantford Expositor (Susan Gamble/August 3) which said David B. Marazzo, 60, was originally given a 12 month conditional sentence, as well as $1,700 in fines in relation to the tags. He has already served 136 days in pretrial custody. According to the newspaper, Marazzo pleaded guilty to obtaining sexual services, voyeurism x 2, and assault. A third voyeurism charge was dropped, while a sexual exploitation, child porn possession and make, print, or publish child porn tag was withdrawn. Marazzo will remain on probation for three years and will be a registered sex offender. He is no longer employed as a paramedic. At the time of his arrest, he also ran a restaurant called Ma Razzo’s in Simcoe.
