** A Michigan man from Holland will serve up to 5 years in prison for injuring 2 EMTs last summer in a drunk driving crash. That is the word from The Holland Sentinel (Audra Gamble/July 18) which said Jeremy King, 23, was given the sentence Friday in relation to an August 7, 2016 mishap that saw his vehicle ram head-on into the EMS unit on the Blue Star Highway. According to the newspaper, the driver of the ambulance had to be extricated after being pinned. King was charged with the felony of operating while intoxicated, causing serious injury x 2. The second count was dismissed, while King pleaded no contest to the first. Medic Tim Hoffman, meanwhile, who was in the rear cab at the time of the collision, continues to recover from injuries sustained while unrestrained.
