** Funeral held for Toronto paramedic killed in July 15th motorcycle crash

** Hundreds of people turned out Friday for the funeral of Toronto paramedic George Eliadis who was killed July 15th in a motorcycle crash in Haliburton County, Ontario. The CBC (July 21) said many EMS practitioners attended in uniform, while Toronto Mayor John Tory also showed up to pay his respects. In addition, an honour guard was present. Eliadis was remembered as a strong leader who cared for others. A paramedic with the city for 27 years, he had also worked on emergency planning for events like the Pan Am Games and the Toronto Caribbean Carnival. Eliadis, whose girlfriend also perished in the accident, leaves two children and a new grandchild behind.

** A North Carolina EMT, who practiced EMS in Wisconsin for a time, has been extradited back to the state to face child sexual assault charges. That is the word from WSAW (Kevin Carr/July 21) which said Michael Justice is now in Wausau charged with ten separate counts involving children between the ages of 8 and 10. According to the news station, Justice allegedly watched porn videos with the youngsters while he babysat them, sometimes acting out what was depicted on the screen. Justice currently remains free on a $50,000 bond. His next court date is August 28th.
