** Indiana EMT, who faked disappearance after stealing service funds, sentenced to 4 years in prison

** Formal sentencing has been set for August 16th, but preliminary news indicates an Indiana EMT will serve four years in prison for stealing funds from his ambulance service. Eagle Country Online (Mike Perleburg/July 21) said former Aurora Emergency Rescue EMT Craig Whitham, 42, will also serve 2 years of probation following his release from incarceration. According to the newspaper, Whitham was charged with felony theft in February after absconding with $106,000. Feigning a disappearance, he was eventually tracked down and admitted to gambling the money away. Along with the above mentioned terms, Whitham has been additionally tasked with a restitution order for an as yet undetermined amount.
