** Alabama police in Fort Payne have charged an area man with allegedly killing his EMT wife. That is the word from WAFF (June 28) which said Gregory Bradford Scott has been tagged with murder in the death of Ashley Lynn Scott, 25. According to the news site, Ashley was found deceased in her apartment’s bedroom Monday around 4 p.m. Neighbors said they heard noises like firecrackers coming from the domicile around 1 a.m. the previous night. A police spokesman said the couple were known for their loud arguments. Ashley was employed with DeKalb Ambulance Service at the time of her death. She had worked there since September 2015. Her husband, meanwhile, who was also an EMT, had worked part time for DeKalb since February. A domestic violence report involving the pair was registered three days before Ashley’s death.

** A former Georgia paramedic will spend the next 10 years in federal prison after being convicted on sex abuse tags. The Atlanta Journal Constitution (June 28) said Fayetteville resident Scott Driscoll Bailey, 45, admitted to police upon his arrest that he had arranged to meet a mother and daughter in Brookhaven to have sex with the nine-year-old. According to the newspaper, the mother and daughter were bogus identities used by the FBI in a sting operation. Bailey was arrested in August 2015. Along with ten years in jail, he will also serve 10 years probation.
