** A Gold Coast paramedic remains in hospital in stable condition after being electrocuted at a call Thursday. The Gold Coast Bulletin (Nicholas McElroy/April 7) said the unidentified practitioner, who is recovering in Pindara Private Hospital, was originally hailed to treat a man who had cut through a live wire. According to the newspaper, the man, 68, was installing power to a bedroom in his  parent’s home through the roof. Falling through the tiles after being electrocuted, his precarious position forced the attending medic to reach him through the ceiling. Though firemen attempted to cut power to the area, the practitioner, 52, sustained his own shock. He remains under observation. The patient, meanwhile, died at the scene.
