** UK medic dies in road crash involving collision of two ambulances

** Patient who fled from paramedics in Saskatchewan prompts schools lockdown

** The Welsh Ambulance Service has confirmed that one of its medics died yesterday in an MVA involving two EMS units colliding. That is the word from ITV News (April 28) which said the 3:01 p.m. accident saw the practitioner, who was driving one of the ambulances, declared dead at the scene. According to the news site, the name of the provider in question has not been released. Police have, however, issued an appeal for witnesses as they continue their investigation.

CANADA NEWS

** A Saskatchewan man, who managed to flee paramedic care, prompted the lockdown Thursday of two Prince Albert elementary schools. CTV News (April 28) said the incident, which played out after EMS was hailed to treat him in a nearby field, saw the individual, 30, run prior to police arrival. According to the news site, the 8:45 a.m. incident resulted in  law enforcement searching the schools to no avail. Both facilities were shut down for 20 minutes. The man, however, remains at large. The nature of the man’s medical situation has not been revealed.
